I, like many painters, have a fascination glass, particularly bottles and jars. I love how the light refracts through them and the liquid they sometimes contain.

This painting documents the end of the blueberry season. Sad, if it weren't for the twelve quarts that we froze for the winter.

Landscape Painting Class

Cemetery and Cornfields, V, 2008, Oil on Canvas, 14"x 28"

My yearly Landscape Painting Class will start this Saturday, June 16, and will be held at a friends farm literally on the Mason-Dixon Line. Just north of Hagerstown a short distance from I-81 is the most beautiful little farm you'd ever want to paint. This is a three hour class that runs through August 11. Students may attend all eight classes (at a discount if paid in advance) or come to as many as your schedule will allow.  If you would like to join our small group and spend some time painting outdoors let me know and I'll send all the necessary info.

I hope to see you there.

Frustration

2012, Oil on Board, 10"x 8"

I have been going in early Friday mornings at the high school to give my students a chance to catch up. I have been using the time to do some work of my own. I am not much of a morning person, but I have found that I paint faster in the mornings. Who knew?
