Zoe, 3, Study

2012, Graphite on Paper, 9.5"x 7"

This is a study for a larger piece. I was giving a lesson on hands and this was the final pose. I told my students that I wanted to tie it in to their previous portrait class but To tell the truth I just couldn't resist drawing Zoe's face one more time.

This is a drawing of three pine trees that we planted about ten years ago. I love looking at these trees.

Drapery Study, 2

2011, Graphite on Paper, 7"x 9.5"

More drapery. I tell my students that if they learn to draw drapery well,  they can then draw anything. This is usually met with much eye rolling, which they think I can't see.

Form #6

2009, 12"x 9", Pen & Ink
Form Series

This drawing may at first seem like a dramatic departure from all of my previous work. In fact the roots of this piece, and the series, Form, predates all of my previously published work. These works have there origins in drawing exercises that I have been doing since I was a child. More on this series in future posts and on the new page on my web site which is coming soon.
