Grandma's Cookie Jar

2003, Pastel, 12'x 9"

This piece is not all that recent but I post it because of the passing of my uncle, Jack Holm, who recently sent me a very kind email telling me how much he liked my work and how proud he was of me. It meant more to me than I can put into words. My sympathy goes out to his wife (my aunt) Ronnie and to his children, Greg, Steve and Lisa whom I haven't seen in far too long. This is also for his surviving sisters, Agnes and Ann, and his nieces and nephews (there are 22 of us). Some of you may remember this cookie jar.

I will always remember my Uncle Jack as having a smile that could light up a room, and for reminding me that the bonds of family diminish little with time.

Form #6

2009, 12"x 9", Pen & Ink
Form Series

This drawing may at first seem like a dramatic departure from all of my previous work. In fact the roots of this piece, and the series, Form, predates all of my previously published work. These works have there origins in drawing exercises that I have been doing since I was a child. More on this series in future posts and on the new page on my web site which is coming soon.
